Ga. Wild Foods Weekend Registration form 2026 (pdf)
DownloadAnne-Marie Bilella and Michelle Withrow hosted this first annual event and a great weekend was had by all! There were educational walks/classes, foraging related vendors with books, herbs, tinctures, mushrooms, jams, jellies, and more! We are already in the planning stages for next years event in September 2026! Friday night's Wild Food contest was won by Jennifer Mallin with her yummy twisted homemade bread stuffed with cheese and poke weed and garlic and other yumminess! Richard and Cassie Stevens won the Wild Spirits contest with theirr elderberry concoction. Very popular! So many good foods served buffet style for the Wild Foods Feast on Saturday eve! We had bear and raccoon and squirrel and deer chorizo and lamb! Oh my! With Autumn Olive Berry dipping sauces and friend oyster mushroom patties that were wonderful and served with a homemade garlicky aioli. Mushroom bread was a big hit, and the fried kudzu leaves too! Side dishes were fantastic, ranging from fried Jerusalem artichokes and wild salads and more and the desserts included pawpaw ice cream, mockernut torte, scuppernong pies, Goumi berry cheesecake and so.much.more! We enjoyed beverages like roasted yaupon holly tea and home made spirits and everything was simply delicious!
